Description | This course gave an overview of two major psychological theories, attachment and psychoanalytic theories. These theories emphasize the development and derailment of relationships, self and other-wise. We used these theoretical perspectives to explore the interpersonal, intersubjective, and intrapsychic dimensions of our relational worlds. Historical and cross-cultural aspects of these psychological approaches were integrated throughout our discussions. Primary and secondary sources, memoirs, clinical cases and research, and plays/film were used to illustrate psychological concepts based on relational patterns. We elaborated on possible interdisciplinary applications of these theoretical frameworks. |
